3) The idea behind "What Does it Mean to Listen?"

He is determined to actively listen, so that when a woman starts conversation, he believes, she is seeking advice or some sort of assistance to what she is feeling. When listening to what she's saying, processes it through the lens of "What can we actually do about this?" (5 Ways Men & Women Communicate Differently). Learning to listen with patience instead of passive behaviour, doesn't come so easy for men when interacting.
She feels a good conversation comes to an end when she feels she has been heard sufficentley well and understood. Women feel that further action may not even be needed to solve the problem, as long as she has been heard. The idea that she has been heard, eases her worries and dulls the pain of her negative feelings. So, long as she shares her feelings with someone who understands, will she feel emotionally equipped to handle future dilemma's.
